親子照片怎麼拍得更有趣,學學時尚部落客Dominique,在IG帳號上名叫「All That Is She」。

The things you have to do to keep the little ones amused over the school holidays 😉. Penny went for a walk the other day with Boy Dom and Elvis, and when I opened the door to let the muddy trio back in, she was standing holding a small, broken, black plastic table. After spotting it dumped in the woods near our home she refused to leave without it. So, with a little help from Dom, she heaved it out of the shrubbery and carried it all the way home, this time without any help. She also now proudly takes her reusable straw wherever she goes and confidently tells any staff member why she doesn’t like plastic straws anymore (the video of the turtle having one removed from its nose). So, yes, this is our Little Penny on a mission to fight against a world of plastic. There really is no stopping these kids of ours 🙌🏻 #scenefromtheceiling

Part human, part 🧟‍♀️ , that is how you’d describe our house today. Amelia went to a rave last night - an under 13s, only on from 6pm till 8pm kind of rave - and Penny had a sleepover with her cousins. Trying to get three very excited under 5s to go to sleep was hard, trying to tell Penny to stop whispering to the others in an attempt to wake them up at 1.30am was harder, but trying to get them all to stay asleep passed 6.30am was impossible. If you have multiple kids under 5, then I salute you, I applaud you, take my hat off to you - you deserve the biggest and shiniest of medals ☺️. And then to top it all off, Boy Dom somehow managed to triple his coffee intake at 6pm last night, so was up, wired, until 3am. Oh, and we had a kid’s party to go to this afternoon. So yep, this isn’t staged, not one little bit, this is exactly how we all look today 😵😝😴 #allthatisthree

9 months later and Penny is still into her 60s music, especially Penny Lane (or Penny Jane as she likes to refer to it 😉). And Amelia is still very much loving her experience of 60s fashion. #allthatisthree Okay, so bit of a parent discussion now. What is your thoughts on making kids say sorry if they’ve done something wrong or have been naughty? I’m genuinely interested in how parents from around the world tackle this. Do you make them say sorry no matter what or is it not a big deal in your home and they can show their remorse in other ways? I know we Brits are renowned for saying sorry a lot, almost to a point of going overboard with it, so I’d love to hear what your views on it are. *EDIT: The reason I’m asking this is because after Penny misbehaved today (being mean to her cousin), I took her out of the situation and we sat in a bedroom until she’d calmed down. Eventually she did and I asked her to say sorry and explained why I was asking her to do so. It then took her another 15 minutes - during this time there were lots of cuddles and kisses from her - before she would say it. So, at one point, I did wonder whether I should be forcing her to do it. Hence my question to you 😁

It’s all been about the 80s this weekend. First the Goblin King made (a rather large 🍆) comeback on Friday night 😉, and now this. The verdict: we’d all happily go back - crimped big hair, colours, and the music #allthatisthree #whp🦄 And a big Happy Mother’s Day! The motherhood journey and story is different and unique to us all; no one is the same (much like the kids we raise). There’s no right or wrong way to parent, there’s just your way. From how you became one, to how to you do it and what it means to you. The sleepless nights, early mornings, the random I love you’s, meal times that always require serious negotiation and bargaining skills, the doubting yourself (am I doing it right?), the proud moments (Amelia performing in her show and Penny reading the word ‘chicken’ out of the menu this weekend) and the unconditional love. The memories we make, the #allthatisthree’s we create, I love our wonderful family, I wouldn’t change a thing (well, apart from the early mornings, I’d happily say farewell to those 😉) . I got to celebrate with lots of food, a lengthy lie in (much needed after Friday night), and got to listen to *my* music all day long (Simply Red, Lionel Richie, Michael Jackson, Elton John - they’ve had the pleasure of hearing them all).

Because I can’t get enough of that squishy little face or get over how much Amelia has changed in just a few short months. What that squishy little face doesn’t know is that she’s going to see the ‘real’ Mary Poppins at Disneyland Paris in May with the family. The plan is to tell her the day before we leave, maybe even the morning of because she has no concept of time right now, so I don’t think any of us could bear the daily “is it Disneyland time yet?” over breakfast, every morning 😁. But also, the thought of the excitement and the thrill of being whisked away to a magical place within 24hours sounds like a good plan too. An old work colleague once told me that when she was younger, her parents woke her up crazy early one morning and told her that she was going to London to see Michael Jackson that day. Can you imagine? I adored Michael Jackson when I was a kid (I was obsessed), so although the car journey would’ve been torturous for anyone with me (“are we there yet?” shouted over MJ’s back catalogue), it would’ve been my childhood dream. It’s a story that stayed with me and an reveal that I always wanted to do one day with my kids, if I could keep the secret long enough. I can’t give them MJ, but I can do Disney ☺️. Have you ever surprised your kids with something magical?

#sponsored - What do you do, as a woman, when you’re told that your wardrobe just simply isn’t complete without a LBD (little black dress)? I mean, I’m not a huge lover of dresses in general. I’m yet to master the art of comfortably sitting on the floor, playing with the kids, without showing my knickers. I rarely shave my legs. I panic that if I ever have to pick up a dropped coin (or worse still, a dropped Penny mid-tantrum) I’ll show my bum to the world. And owning anything ‘little’ these days, doesn’t sound too appealing. LBT, little black trousers, however, now that I can get on board with. These @marksandspencer trousers are everything a mother and capsule wardrobe owner could want. A classic, transitional piece that can be worn for any occasion. Your knickers stay underwraps and your legs can remain unshaven - all hail the LBT. #TheEverywearTrouser #MyMarks

Me blowing the kids back to school on Monday morning 😉💨 This weekend I’m on my own with the girls (Boy Dom’s away in Leeds), so off to the shops we went. Half way into the shopping trip, I lost my bank card. Brilliant 🤦🏻‍♀️. Off we trudged, back to the shop that I was certain that I’d left it in, but with no luck. Once I’d given up hope finding the card, we left the shops and drove all the way to the supermarket. I then realised my phone wasn’t in my bag. Amelia rang it (hoping to hear it vibrate from beneath the car seat) only to hear a man’s voice on the other end. It was the shop assistant from the shop where I’d enquired about my lost bank card. While asking him about my lost bank card I’d left my phone on the counter. What a wally! Proof that having three unexpected days off days off with the kids, and having to spend them indoors because of the snow, really does turn your brain to goo. I’m not cradling a cup of tea in my bedroom, hiding away from the six 11yr olds who are having a sleepover downstairs 😂🙈. Please share your careless, lost item mishaps with me, make me feel better (and let me laugh at your misfortune 😉).

#sponsored - My home. The North East of England. We would spend our summers ‘down at the beach’ regardless of the weather. We’d brave the wind, the rain, and anything else a Northern summer could throw at us just to enjoy a day there. Countless ice-creams, fairground rides, arcades and some delicious fish&chips for lunch (the reason our fish&chips are so good - arguably the best in the world - is that they *have* to be to compensate for our terrible weather). When @clarksshoes asked me where I felt most comfortable or at home, I instantly thought of this beach. Yes, it may be far from tropical; warm weather is a rarity, and the sand is beige, not white, but it's my home. When you've lived by the coast for all your life, you often take it for granted. It's not until you begin to think that some people will never get to see the sea or will have to travel for miles to do so that you start to understand the privilege of living here. I love the North East, I always will, and I doubt I’ll ever leave. Where do you find comfort in your soul? #comfortinyoursoul #clarksforlife
